Location and Travel

Central London
Trains from Winchmore Hill Station (on the line from Moorgate to Hertford North/ Stevenage via Hertford North) take you to Finsbury Park (Victoria and Piccadilly lines) in 14 minutes and to Highbury and Islington (Victoria line) in 17 minutes. So, Oxford Circus (shopping), Piccadilly Circus (The Royal Academy of Art and West End theatres) and Russell Square (The British Museum) are all just 25-30 minutes away.

Oyster Card: The cheapest and simplest way to pay for travel around the Underground and Over-ground train system and buses is to use an Oyster Card. You can buy & top-up Oyster Cards at the Newsagents on Winchmore Hill Green, or at main stations, or on-line in advance. Load money onto the card and swipe it through a card reader. Go to Transport for London www.tfl.gov.uk for Oyster Card information. Winchmore Hill is in zone 4.

Motorway network :

The M25 (junction 24) is 10 minutes away. The M11 is also 10-15  minutes away.

Car usage:  Unless you are making journeys outside London you do NOT need a car. It is not sensible to use a car within London. There is a charge for driving in the central area and parking is hugely expensive.  Use public transport system which is efficient and safe.
